Up date on power sector:

Total installed capacity of India as on 30.07.08 is as follows:

Coal- 77,198 MW-53.3%
Gas- 14,716 MW-10.5%
oil- 1,199 MW-0.9%
Hydro- 36,158 MW -24.7%
Nuclear- 4,120 MW-2.9%
Renewable- 12194 MW-7.7%

There is a potential to add any thing between 10,000 MW to 30,000 MW of wind power in the country.

A Gujarat based Co. M/s Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd. has decided to enter into this sector in a big way.
It is quoting at around Rs.150/- and is close to its yearly low of Rs.149/- and well below its intrinsic worth of Rs.320/- to 360/-. The stock is likely to give a compounded return of over 30-40% p.a over a period of next three years, where in the expected price range for 2008-09 is Rs.140-250/- and for 2009-2010 is Rs. 200/- to 350/- and for 2010-2011 is Rs.300/- to 400/-.

It is the largest producer of refrigerant gases in India and also amongst the lowest cost producers in the world and exports 90% of its production to more than 75 countries across the world. It plans to establish wind power farms across Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
